Blockchain Engineer
•Oct 25Finally a company that actually understands crypto and is not just riding the hype wave. Deep technical discussion about smart contract security and layer 2 scaling solutions. They asked about my GitHub contributions and we walked through code I wrote for a DAO project. Everyone I met was sharp and passionate about decentralization. Comp package includes tokens which is sick.
Explain MEV and how to prevent it. Write a secure smart contract on the spot. How would you design a cross chain bridge.
Have public code they can review. Know consensus mechanisms deeply. Be able to explain crypto concepts without jargon.
Urban Planner
•Oct 25City government role so the pace is slower than private sector but the impact is huge. Talked about transportation projects and zoning reforms I would work on. Team genuinely cares about making the city better for residents. Salary is public sector so not amazing but pension and benefits are solid. Work life balance is real which is rare.
How would you approach this zoning issue. Experience with community engagement. Urban planning software skills.
Show you understand both technical planning and community needs. Government work is different. Ask about bureaucracy levels.
Compliance Officer
•Oct 24Very by the book interview which makes sense for compliance. They wanted someone with specific regulatory experience I do not have. The role itself sounds tedious but necessary. Team was professional but not exactly fun. Probably dodged a bullet because I would have been bored. Compliance is important but not for me.
How do you stay current with regulations. Walk through a compliance audit. Experience with financial regulations.
You need to actually enjoy detail work. Know the regulatory landscape for their industry. Not a role you can fake passion for.
